The Purpose
This project focused on transforming a property in Elvington into a bright, modern outdoor retreat designed to make the most of sunlight throughout the day. The client wanted a clean, low-maintenance landscape that encouraged outdoor living, from relaxed seating to social entertaining. Our design centred on open sightlines, considered material choices, and layered planting to create a sun-filled space that feels both functional and refined.
The Challenge
At this Elvington property, the brief was clear: create a modern landscape that captures light and turns the garden into a true suntrap. The design prioritised simplicity and flow, with contemporary surfaces, structured planting, and carefully positioned zones for dining and relaxation. The result is an outdoor space that feels open and inviting—perfectly suited to modern living while remaining practical and easy to enjoy year-round.

- Drainage & Irrigation
Designed a custom drainage and irrigation system to preserve the integrity of the landscape and ensure long-term plant health.
- Artificial Trees & Plants
Incorporated lifelike artificial greenery in select areas to reduce maintenance without compromising visual impact.
- Low-Maintenance Plant Palette
Selected native and climate-adapted plants to reflect the Prairie aesthetic while simplifying upkeep.
- Outdoor Living Zones
Created distinct areas for dining, lounging, and gathering to enhance functionality and year-round enjoyment.
